Ladbrokes Green Online Casino to Close Down

August 10, 2009

Intertops Casino, also known as Intertops Green, was one of the first Internet casinos, having been launched in 1996. Since then it has become an institution itself. Now Intertops have announced that this online casino will shut down on August 31 2009.

A notice at the Intertops Green site says that they have already stopped taking deposits from August 4 and will not be offering any more bonuses. However players who have balances with the online casino can continue wagering till August 31. Some months ago Intertops had launched a new online casino called Intertops Red and all players at Intertops Green are being encouraged to relocate. The relocation will be seamless and easy. Players can continue to use the same user name and password at Intertops Red. Also players can transfer their current balance to Intertops Red. Hence there is no need to withdraw funds from Intertops Green and deposit them at Intertops Red. Players who are using the poker and sports book facilities at Intertops can continue to do so.

It is always a difficult decision to close down a popular and viable online casino of such long standing. But there were compelling reasons. Intertops Green was powered by Microgaming, which withdrew from the United States online gambling market in December 2008. Intertops had a predominantly American customer base and wanted to continue in the American market. Therefore Intertops was compelled to tie up with an online gaming software provider that caters to the United States Market. Intertops accordingly selected Real Time Gaming and launched Intertops Red, with the understanding that when the license for Intertops Green expires it will not be renewed.

Intertops Red has the same management as Intertops Green and therefore customers will face the same gaming environment and the same excellent customer service. Real Time Gaming offers over 300 online casino games at Intertops Red and some of the largest progressive jackpots available to American players. A welcome bonus of 100% of the first deposit subject to an upper limit of $200 will be available to players who relocate to Intertops Red from Intertops Green.

Intertops Green is also sensitive to the concerns of those of its players who would like to stay with Microgaming. It has tied up with another Microgaming online casino to take up its players. This online casino is Royal Joker, with whom it has been jointly hosting the Amazing Race promotion. Players who relocate to Royal Joker will have to add “RJ” after user name but can use the same password. They can also transfer their balance very conveniently. And what is more, they will not lose their place in the Amazing Race promotion.
