A Fresh Look at Progressive Jackpots

May 13, 2009

When Mega Moolah was ticking away at over $6 million it had dwarfed all other progressive jackpot online slots. It was sucking all traffic towards it. Who would want to give up a chance off hitting six million dollars by wagering elsewhere? Now that Mega Moolah is back to saner levels online players would be wondering on which progressive jackpot slot they should now wager. Therefore a fresh look is required at the highest progressive jackpots now on offer.

Real Time Gaming (RTG) has replaced Microgaming as the preferred progressive jackpot supplier at least for now. There are six progressive slots around the million dollar mark and three of them belong to RTG. The leader is Jackpot Piñatas currently at $1.3 million. It is followed by Aztec’s Millions at $1.1 million and Shopping Spree at $0.9 million. The RTG progressive slots are a mystery of sorts. Jackpot Piñatas was hit around 18 months ago at $274k. The other two have not been hit. Therefore it is difficult to predict where they are going. One good thing about them is that they are open to American players whereas Mega Moolah was not. Hence for once the American players can say that they are enjoying the best of the progressive jackpots.

Of the remaining three progressive slots the leader is Millionaires Club from Cryptologic. It is currently ticking away at $1.1 million. Next is none other than Mega Moolah. Mega Moolah resets at $1 million and therefore it will always be in the limelight. The third progressive slot is Red White and Win from Vegas Technology. This is at $0.9 million. Based on the last five hits Millionaires Club has paid out an average of $0.9 million every 115 days. The last hit was 255 days ago. Going by that Millionaires Club should hit not before long. Therefore it is a good progressive slot to play at. Mega Moolah has just been hit and history shows that the hits have been increasing from over $4 million to over $6 million. Hence it should be quite a while before Mega Moolah hits again. In fact if it does hit soon then it will come as a surprise to the entire online gaming industry. Red White and Win has recorded just the one hit about four months ago at $0.8 million. This is not much of a history to go by. However it indicates that this is an appropriate progressive jackpot slot to wager on.

Two other progressive jackpot slots need mention. These are Beach Life from Playtech which is ticking away at $0.7 million and Major Millions from Microgaming which is ticking away at $0.5 million. Beach Life has hit over $4 million eight months ago and over $2 million two months ago. Therefore one can expect Beach Life to continue for some time before it is hit. The hits in Major Millions vary from $0.3 million to $1 million and so this progressive jackpot slot can hit any time.
