Credit Cards are Still the Best Online Casino Banking Option Available

November 3, 2008

Players register at online casinos so that they can place real money bets. For this they have first to transfer funds to their accounts at the online casinos. Today there are several options available in this regard to the online player. These options can be broadly classified into three groups. The first are the conventional payment options of paper checks and bank wire transfers. The second option consists of credit and debit cards. And the third option is that of the numerous e-wallets that have been developed.

The conventional options take time for the payments to be credited and this creates a problem for online players. They are in danger of having to sit out if the payments are not credited in time. And the e-wallet accounts need to be funded first by using conventional options or credit cards before they can be used to fund online casino accounts. Therefore funding online casino accounts using credit cards seems the best option. Credit card transactions are instantaneous and that eliminates the disadvantages found in conventional options. Also today almost everyone carries credit cards and is comfortable with using them. Therefore signing up with a new e-wallet provider, completing the formalities required and funding the e-wallet is a duplication of effort. Also credit cards can be used for offline purchases as well and hence players can use the same option for both.

There have been some problems in the use of credit cards but the solution lies in resolving the problems so that the advantages of using credit cards can continue to be enjoyed by the players. One of the issues was the risk of identity theft as a result of credit card details lying in the database of the online casino. But in the case of e-wallets the information will lie in the database of the e-wallet providers and therefore the risk is not reduced, merely diverted to another place. The more pressing issue was of credit card rejection. One of the reasons for this rejection, in the United States, was a prohibition on banks from transferring funds to online casinos under the UIGEA. Another reason for the rejection was the interface between the online casino and the credit card service provider. Because of problems in the interface a credit card may have been rejected once but on retrying minutes later it might have been approved. Hence online players often had to carry out the transaction a number of times before meeting with success.

But good online casinos have overcome both these problems. They accept players from the United States and have created a seamless interface with the credit card suppliers so that there is no problem of rejection. Some of these good online casinos are Golden Casino, Online Vegas, Rushmore Casino, Cherry Red Casino and Millionaire Casino.
